It’s Wacky Wednesday and I decided to do something completely new, my very first Zumba class with Michelle Duffy and Tracy at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Northfield, NJ. From the moment I walked in, I could feel the positive energy in the room. Everyone in the class was welcoming and friendly, which immediately made me feel comfortable even though I was a total beginner.
The instructors were incredible. Michelle and Tracy were not only motivating but they also made learning the choreography feel fun and achievable. I was honestly surprised at how much I could keep up, and even when I got a step wrong, the encouragement from the instructors and the other participants kept me going. The energy in the room was contagious. Laughter, smiles, and everyone moving together made it feel like more than just a workout, it felt like a little celebration.
The workout itself was amazing. Zumba is such a unique way to get your heart rate up while having fun, and the combination of music, movement, and teamwork made the hour fly by. I could feel myself sweating and smiling at the same time, which is exactly how a workout should feel. I can already tell this is something I’ll want to do regularly, and it’s even better knowing you can bring friends or family along to share the experience.
Trying something new can be intimidating, but this class was a reminder that stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to some of the best experiences. I had the best time and would absolutely go again. Whether you’re looking for a fun way to exercise, a social activity, or just something to try on a random Wednesday, I highly recommend giving Zumba a shot. You never know how much you’ll enjoy it until you try.
