Charlie Puth is trying to find the balance between his music and his family.
The "Changes" singer sat down with Rolling Stone for a new interview published Tuesday (January 20) where he touched on how his life is about to get very busy in the next few months. Not only is he releasing his new album Whatever's Clever! on March 27, and going on tour the following month, but he and his wife Brooke Sansone are expecting their first child together in March, per People.
"I honestly can't even think about it right now because that's why my jaw tenses up," he said.
Puth added that he "always [wants] to make sure that I'm there for baby" and give his child a "normal" life amid his own fame.
"I wanna make sure that the baby has a normal life, and we'll have the big headphones onstage, behind stage, and hopefully I can wave to baby," he said.
He also explained that Brooke and their child won't join him on the road for "everything."
"Touring is a really unnatural thing," he said, adding, "And I can just tell that's not gonna be sustainable. So we'll do it where it makes sense, but I just want the most normal life for my child possible. I don't want them to travel on airplanes constantly."
Elsewhere in the interview, the "Light Switch" singer shared the "raging" backstory behind his decision to quit drinking.
