Atlantic City's airshow is back with a new twist as the Soar and Shore Festival takes flight on Wednesday (July 16). After a brief hiatus due to financial issues, the event returns with a focus on civilian aerial acts, shifting away from its previous military-centered lineup. The festival will run from noon to 2:30 p.m. above the beach and boardwalk near Bally's Atlantic City Hotel & Casino.
The festival, organized by Visit Atlantic City and Herb Gillen Airshows, promises a thrilling display of aerial performances. Spectators can look forward to seeing Nathan Hammond's Super Chipmunk, the Misty Blues Parachute Team, and aerobatics from Warbird Thunder and Third Strike Wingwalking. Military enthusiasts will still enjoy F-16 flybys by the 177th Fighter Wing and a showcase of historical aircraft, including a World War II B-25 Mitchell Bomber and an F4F Wildcat.
The event also includes a practice day on Tuesday (July 15), allowing fans to catch a glimpse of the action before the main event. Beyond the airshow, the Soar and Shore Festival offers a week-long celebration featuring a car show, fireworks, and other activities. On Wednesday, visitors can enjoy a classic car show at Boardwalk Hall, live demonstrations of the World’s Largest Pipe Organ, and a fireworks display at dusk in front of Tropicana Atlantic City.
The festival aims to provide a family-friendly atmosphere with various activities and entertainment options throughout the week. Visitors are encouraged to bring beach chairs and enjoy the aerial displays from the beach or boardwalk.
