Acclaimed director Steven Spielberg is filming a new UFO movie in Cape May, New Jersey, and is looking for local extras. The film, starring Oscar nominee Emily Blunt, will shoot scenes in March. Producers are holding open auditions for Cape May residents to play train passengers and car drivers.

The movie, tentatively titled "The Dish," also features a star-studded cast, including Emmy winner Josh O’Connor, Oscar nominee Colman Domingo, Oscar winner Colin Firth, and Eve Hewson. Universal Pictures and Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment are producing the film, with a screenplay by David Koepp, known for "Jurassic Park" and "War of the Worlds." The movie is set for release on May 15, 2026.

NJ.com reports that Grant Wilfley Casting is handling the casting process. Interested individuals should email nj@gwcnyc.com with the subject line "Non-View Cape May Locals" and include their name, pronouns, phone number, and availability. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, and no prior acting experience is necessary. The base pay rate is $216 per day, with an additional $37.50 for those using their own cars.

Filming is scheduled from Monday (March 10) to Friday (March 14), and participants must be local to Cape May. Spielberg, who spent part of his childhood in New Jersey, is known for his work on films like "E.T." and "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."
