A new boutique hotel inspired by the classic board game Monopoly is set to open in Atlantic City. RMS Capital plans to break ground on The Top Hat in the city's Orange Loop district in early 2025. The hotel will pay homage to the game with a top hat and race car, two iconic Monopoly tokens, featured prominently in its design.

The Top Hat will be a three-story structure with 1,400 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and a boutique hotel-style short-term rental on the upper level. It will offer six bedrooms accommodating up to 12 guests and a rooftop deck with sweeping views of Atlantic City. The hotel aims to become a cultural landmark and boost the local economy by attracting tourists and supporting local businesses.

Mark Callazzo, managing partner of RMS Capital, emphasized the project's significance for Atlantic City. "The Top Hat at The Orange Loop is a game changer for Atlantic City. We’re not just building a structure — we’re creating a space that will serve as a landmark for residents and visitors alike," he said to patch.com. The development is part of a broader effort to revitalize the Orange Loop, a dynamic corridor known for its eclectic mix of restaurants, nightlife, and entertainment venues.

The hotel will not feature a casino but will offer a unique, game-themed experience with Monopoly sets in each room. It is expected to cater to visitors seeking a distinctive stay in Atlantic City, encouraging them to explore the city's diverse dining, entertainment, and cultural options.
