Petition Calls for Increased Police Presence on Garden State Parkway

A petition demanding increased police presence on the Garden State Parkway in Ocean County is gaining momentum. The petition was initiated by local resident Jim Symbouras in response to a series of fatal accidents on the toll road. Last week alone, four people lost their lives in two separate incidents.

Symbouras, who commutes daily on the Parkway to his job in Matawan, describes the 55-minute journey as a "nightmare" due to aggressive drivers. He believes that a stronger police presence and stricter penalties for traffic violations, particularly speeding, could help deter reckless driving and enhance safety on the Parkway.

The petition has already garnered over a thousand signatures, indicating a shared concern among local residents about the safety of the Garden State Parkway. Symbouras hopes that the growing support for his initiative will lead to tangible changes that will make the Parkway a safer route for all motorists.
