Skate AC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting skateboarding, has launched a fundraising campaign to build a second skate park in Atlantic City. The organization aims to raise $90,000 for the project, which will be located at the Uptown School Complex.
The initiative is part of Skate AC's ongoing efforts to provide more recreational opportunities for local youth and foster community engagement. The organization has already successfully established the city's first skate park and is now seeking community support to expand these facilities.
According to the Press of Atlantic City, renderings for the proposed park have been completed by Tailblock Concrete, further highlighting Skate AC's commitment to the project.
Skate AC was established in 2010 and has since hosted numerous events, given away tens of thousands of dollars worth of products to local youth, and built Atlantic City's first skateboard park. The organization's mission is to provide safe spaces and opportunities for the local community through the construction of skate parks, hosting contests, and running educational programs.
The Uptown School Complex, where the proposed skate park will be located, is a well-established educational institution in Atlantic City. The school is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment focused on enhancing student achievement and nurturing the whole child, aligning with Skate AC's mission of fostering a healthy community environment.
The fundraising campaign is now underway, and Skate AC is welcoming donations to help reach their goal and make the second skate park a reality.
