A man was reportedly injured by a possible shark bite while swimming at Surrey Avenue Beach in Ventnor on Sunday morning. The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m., according to the Ventnor City Beach Patrol. The man, who is in his 30s, was in the water when his hand was injured. He was promptly bandaged and taken to the hospital for treatment, where he received stitches. He is expected to recover fully.
Following the incident, beachgoers were only allowed to enter the water up to their knees until further notice. Despite the possible shark bite, authorities did not spot any sharks in the area after the injury. The incident is still under investigation.
