As the holiday season continues to bring joy and cheer, it also seems to have brought out the 'porch pirates'. Last week, an alleged package thief, Shatima Moore-Lampkin, was arrested and charged in Atlantic City.

Moore-Lampkin was charged with receiving stolen property after a woman matching her description was reported to have stolen packages from an Indiana Avenue address last Monday. The theft was reported to the Atlantic City Police Department, who promptly began an investigation.

The police were able to identify Moore-Lampkin as a suspect through surveillance footage. The footage showed a woman, who matched the description given by the victim, taking packages from the porch of the Indiana Avenue address.

In response, the police pulled over Moore-Lampkin's vehicle. Inside, they found the stolen packages, confirming their suspicions. The arrest was made without incident, according to the Press of Atlantic City.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Moore-Lampkin had outstanding warrants for her arrest. Following the charges related to the package theft, she was remanded to Atlantic County Jail.

This incident echoes a similar case from the 2021 holiday season, where a woman named Louise Brown was arrested for stealing packages from porches in Atlantic City. Brown was found in possession of an unopened package that did not belong to her and was charged with three counts of theft by unlawful taking.
