Are Burritos and Tacos "Mexican Style Sandwiches?" - The Court Case

In Indiana, a judge has finally settled a long-standing debate about what constitutes a sandwich. The judge ruled that tacos and burritos should be considered Mexican-style sandwiches. The debate began when Martin Quintana wanted to open a taco restaurant in the Quintana strip mall. The Planning Commission initially rejected his proposal, citing an agreement that only allowed restaurants serving "made-to-order or subway-style sandwiches." However, Judge Craig J. Bobay ruled in Quintana's favor, stating that the original agreement did not specify American cuisine and that establishments serving Greek gyros, Indian naan wraps, or Vietnamese banh mi would also be permitted. The judge emphasized that "tacos and burritos are Mexican-style sandwiches," asserting that the agreement allowed for a diverse array of sandwich styles.
