Physical therapy can be FUN! I have tried a few physical therapy offices in the past, but was not happy with my progress and sometimes ended treatment early. BUT the moment I walked into Trinity Rehab in Somers Point, I knew things were going to be different! It is a big, bright, new office with a friendly staff and fun and encouraging atmosphere.
My therapist, Michelle Carlin, did a thorough assessment and came up with a personalized treatment plan. My plan includes Trinity Rehab's state-of-the-art technology, including the Alter G Anti-Gravity treadmill. I haven't been able to walk on standard treadmills in several years, so getting the chance to walk - and defy gravity - on the Alter G had been an awesome experience. It improves balance, range of motion, coordination and strength. I look forward to walking on it again in my upcoming appointments and Michelle is confident that she will get me running again!
Another aspect of my treatment plan that involves state-of-the-art technology is EPAT (Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Technology.) EPAT is a non-invasive, highly effective treatment that uses sound waves to target where the pain is coming from. It only takes about 10 minutes and treats all types of pain, including plantar fasciitis, back pain, neck pain, stress fractures, knee pain, shoulder pain, back pain and MORE! I just got my third EPAT treatment and I already have less pain and I can walk longer distances. I had never heard of these revolutionary treatments a before I became a patient at Trinity Rehab Somers Point, located in the Target Shopping Center at 276 New Road.
They know life can get hectic, so convenient hours are offered, including evening appointments. Trinity Rehab accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna. I am looking forward to getting back to enjoying the activities I love, like walking on the beaches and boardwalks this summer! Maybe running a 5k is in my future thanks to Trinity Rehab in Somers Point! I'm happy I took the step to make that first appointment and get on the road to recovery! Life's too short to let pain hold you back :)
