As someone who has coaches High School Sports for 15 years, sometimes the ref can get it wrong and it's just something you need to deal with. Its Life, Its a learning experience that sometimes its not your fault and you did everything you could and it was taken out of your hands...but then there is situations like this.
Manasquan HS Boys Basketball team hit a game winning basket with 0.3 left on the clock but the refs had a meeting and over ruled that the ball was released AFTER the clock had expired. Video evidence below proves that its not even close. Being a Ref is VERY HARD, and there is a reason why there is a shortage. They aren't perfect, they make mistakes and I'm not sure what can be done to fix this because you really can't go back and change the call. As much as we all want that to be different that would set a VERY weird precedent that outcomes can be changed a day later. I feel for the Manasquan basketball team, I feel for the ref that I'm sure tried to make the right call and heck I even feel for the Camden basketball players that just "won" the biggest game of their lives and THIS is what is surrounding it.
Here is the Video
Manasquan absolutely should have a bad taste in their mouth after winning the game and then not. Personally, I would have less of a problem with it if it was the original call that it came too late. But going back after a meeting and over ruling 2 different refs to say it was too late is what bothers me. Trust the guys you are with, Trust the other eyes that are there without bias. They both thought the basket was good.
This is not the last we'll hear from this. It's well known the Camden coach is one of the best and classiest ind
