Fact! The famous Italian explorer Marco Polo discovered the recipe for a dessert called “milk ice” while he was roaming around China. When he brought the recipe back with him (it was more like a sherbet), Europeans substituted cream for the milk (Europeans do love their cream) and appropriately called it “ice cream”. The rest, as they say, is history.
