Kristin Cavallari was a wild child and has the scars to prove it.

On a recent episode of her Let's Be Honest podcast, Cavallari recalled the time she pierced her own belly button with a safety pin when she was in eighth grade, per People. The Laguna Beach alum said she and some friends "took safety pins and we shoved it through" before having to buy "an actual belly button ring" at the mall.

"Guys, I was outside of the mall laying in the grass with Johnny, my boyfriend at the time ... shoving the belly button ring through the safety-pin hole. Like, what? Are you kidding me?" she said, adding, "That just tells you my mental state at that time, you know? I could never do something like that today. I was the toughest f---ing kid on the planet."

Cavallari said she even managed to keep it hidden until her mom found out about the piercing when she read about it in her diary, bemoaning, "God, why did I always write everything down? It got me into so much trouble."

The 38-year-old The Hills alum admitted that she regrets the experience not only because it was "traumatic as hell" but because it also left a "crazy scar" that she still has to this day due to piercing it in the wrong place.

"I pierced my belly button, like, on top of my belly button. The bottom part that's supposed to be, like, in your belly button is on top of my belly button. So, I have just like this crazy scar above my belly button," she said, before advising others not to follow in her footsteps. "It almost looks like stretch marks. It's a belly button piercing gone wrong. So don't every pierce your belly button. Take it from me."

On the flip side, Cavallari has previously opened up about the "best decision [she's] ever made" that she admitted "might sound messed up to some people."
