Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt's Kids Speak Out Following Divorce Settlement

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's six children wish their mother would have been more vocal during the estranged pair's divorce, which reached a settlement on Monday (December 30) after eight years.

A source close to the Maria actress recently told People that Jolie remained a "light" to her children throughout the entire process and was sure to always put them first, despite the pain she endured.

"She’s been trying hard to be light after a dark time. The kids have grown up seeing that some people have so much power and privilege that their voices don’t matter. Their pain doesn’t count."

The mother-of-six, who shares children Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, Knox, and Vivienne, 16, with Pitt, assured her children that there are more important things to do than to "tell public stories."

"They have wanted her to speak up for herself, to defend herself over these years but she reminds them to focus on changing laws over telling public stories."

Just last month, the Maleficent standout made her first talk show appearance in 10 years, revealing that her children, like herself, enjoy their privacy more than most and prefer to keep their personal lives out of the media.

"I think some of them [want to work] off-camera, behind the scenes, but they really, really want to be — especially Shiloh — they want to be private. Just private, not photographed, not on the thing. I think, her most of all, would like privacy."
