A rare roseate spoonbill, a pink bird native to Florida, Texas, and Louisiana, has been spotted in New Jersey. Emilee Carton, a resident of Shrewsbury and an avid bird watcher, reported seeing the bird at Union Beach in Monmouth County earlier this month. The bird has also been sighted in Cumberland County.

Bird experts suggest that recent hurricanes may have pushed these southern birds northward, leading to these unusual sightings in New Jersey.
