In response to the recent altercation involving Kylie Kelce, wife of former Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce, Margate City Mayor Michael Collins has issued a formal apology to the couple. The incident, which took place during their date night over Memorial Day Weekend, has drawn significant attention. The couple, while trying to enjoy an evening at Steve & Cookie’s By The Bay restaurant, faced an unfortunate confrontation with an inebriated woman demanding a photo.

Mayor Collins joined the Mike and Diane Morning Show on 95.1 WAYV to make the following statement:

"On behalf of the City of Margate, I’d like to formally apologize to Jason and Kylie Kelce for the experience they had in Margate over the holiday weekend. As a father with young children, I know, as well as anyone, the importance of a date night with your wife and would like to offer Jason and Kylie an opportunity for a redo date night dinner in Margate on me."

The altercation began when the woman approached the Kelces' vehicle in a parking lot, requesting a photograph. Kylie Kelce, maintaining her composure, declined politely, explaining that she was on a date with her husband. However, the situation quickly escalated as the woman responded with explicit language and threats, claiming Kylie would never be welcome in the town again. Kylie, standing her ground, noted the smell of alcohol on the woman's breath and retorted that she was embarrassing herself.

Jason Kelce, who was present during the altercation, opted to let his wife handle the situation. Despite the incident, the couple continued with their plans and enjoyed their evening at the popular local restaurant. Witnesses and a video shared by the "Word to the Wise" podcast highlighted the tension but also captured other moments where the Kelces were seen interacting amiably with fans.
