An American Airlines plane turned back around because of a gas leak…coming from a passenger. The flight started in Phoenix, Arizona was headed to Austin, Texas according to a viral Reddit post. After most of the passengers had boarded, the farty flier reportedly shouted, “You thought that was rude? Well how about this smell” — and proceeded to pass gas.
The Redditer recalled, “The man who just purposefully farted moments ago decides to loudly and condescendingly say ‘Yeah, everybody, let’s just eat the smelliest food possible all at the same time.’” Flight attendants eventually told the gassy guest to knock it off. As the plane returned to the gate, “a flight attendant comes back and informs fartman that he will not be staying on this flight.” That’s when everyone breathed a deep sigh of relief.
